My new website is up!

August 21, 2014

Anyone who knows me knows I love two things, photography, and teaching.  I have been a photographer for over fifteen years, and love taking photos.  I have also taught trade school for a number of years in trade schools and colleges both in Utah and California.  I have now combined these into one website.  The Camera Bar!   You can go take a look at it at http://thecamerabarblog.com

If you are an aspiring photographer, or just interested in taking better photos, go give it a look.  Like it, link to it, tell your friends about it.   Let me know what you think.  And be sure to check back regularly, as I plan to post daily.

Thanks

Although this web site is dedicated primarily to my wedding photography and portrait business, the majority of my professional work is what is known as stock photography.  Stock photographs are those pictures you see every day in magazine articles, on fliers, web pages, advertising circulars, packaging, billboards, etc…  They range from the boring to the amazing, and everything in between.   I shoot these photos, then they are sold through stock agencies which deal directly with the end users, so no selling is required by me.  I am personally represented by four stock agencies in the US, and one out of London.

Last week I was in Colorado shooting some wildlife photography which will be distributed to these stock agencies.  I wanted to share them with you so you can get a glimpse of the type of work I do when I am not shooting weddings or family portraits.

Those who know me, know I LOVE photography.  When I get up in the morning, many of my first thoughts are of photography, and as I lie down at night I fall to sleep thinking of photography.  So its no surprise that my iphone is filled with photography podcasts.  One of my very favorite is the Camera Dojo podcast hosted by Kerry Garrison.  This morning I had the opportunity to be a guest on the show as part of a photographer round table.  We discussed favorite gear, the future of the industry, the integration of video, etc…  We had a great time with a great group of fellow photographers.  If you are into photography, you really ought to listen in to this podcast, especially episode #122 because it has ME in it.

Chad and Jessica decided to be married in the Mt Timpanogos temple several months ago, little did they know that the temple would be in the middle of a major renovation on the weekend they picked.  But when they arrived to find the temple surrounded in scaffolding and orange safety fence, it didn’t get their spirits down.  They were so happy to finally be sealed for time and all eternity, that nothing could ruin this day (although the groom showing up nearly an hour late didn’t help Jessica’s nerves)!  The day was absolutely beautiful, and was a day the couple will never forget.  I am so glad I got to be a part of preserving those memories for them.
